Enhancing athletes' and coaches' overall well-being and performance

Mental performance and mental health services aim to enhance athletes’ and coaches’ overall well-being and performance. These services offer strategies to develop performance-enhancing skills, understand the mind-body connection, and improve social dynamics. They also provide essential resources and education to navigate mental health challenges, fostering a holistic approach to achieving high-performance goals in sport.

Mental Performance

What is Mental Performance?

Mental Performance addresses the psychology of sport performance. Mental performance plays a key role within the high-performance sport environment for all those involved from individual athletes and teams to coaches and support staff. Considerable evidence gathered over several decades has demonstrated that a performer’s mental state has a vital impact on performance; training the mind for success is an essential ingredient alongside the physical, technical, and tactical training and preparation to achieve high performance goals in competition.

What is Mental Health?

Mental health is a state of well-being in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities to cope with normal stressors of life, can work productively and contributes to their community. Everyone has a level of mental health, and it is personal and subjective. It can include one’s sense of well-being, feeling in line and at peace with one’s own values and beliefs, and feeling positive and optimistic about life.
