Could you be Canada’s next Olympic star?

RBC Training Ground is a program designed to help sport officials uncover athletes with Olympic podium potential, in sports they may not have considered. Athletes between the ages of 14 and 25 execute a series of workouts measuring speed, power, strength, and endurance in front of coaches and officials from National Sport Organizations (NSOs). The participants’ results are measured against performance benchmarks to determine an athlete’s capacity for sport at its highest level.

The Canadian Sport Institute Pacific, part of the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute (COPSI) Network, serves as the official delivery partner for RBC Training Ground in BC.

Our Direct Impact on RBC Training Ground

Canadian Sport Institute Pacific Director of Performance Solutions, Kurt Innes, was a key contributor to the expansion of the Institute’s PODIUM SEARCH™ program, which lead to the creation of the RBC Training Ground Program.

PODIUM SEARCH™ events now serve as regional qualifiers to RBC Training Ground, helping the program test athletes in communities it otherwise would not have reached. Annual PODIUM SEARCH™ qualifiers are held throughout B.C.

Andrew Latham, CSI Pacific’s Manager, Performance Pathways, plays a leadership role across Canada with RBC Training Ground in the operation of their events and identification of athletes.
