Dr. Trent Stellingwerff
Dr. Trent Stellingwerff is the Chief Performance Officer (CPO) at the Canadian Sports Institute Pacific (Victoria, Canada). Trent is a member of the Institutes Senior Strategy Team as well as leading the strategy for CSI Pacific’s Research & Development program and leading several special projects. Trent has significant business, leadership and corporate strategy experience having worked for Nestlé in Lausanne, Switzerland, including graduating from the Nestlé / University of Geneva MBA program. Over his career, Trent also worked as a Lead or Senior physiologist with Athletics Canada, Rowing Canada, Cycling Canada and Triathlon Canada, with focus on optimizing aspects of performance physiology and nutrition in endurance-based sports. Over the years, Trent has attended and/or serviced athletes and sports over 4 Olympic/Paralympic Games, 4 Commonwealth Games and >15 World Championships across several sports.
Trent has developed many national and international collaborations in various applied research projects in the fields of nutrition and physiology. Trent also holds adjunct faculty positions at the University of Victoria and University of British Columbia and a faculty member for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Diploma in the Sports Nutrition and Strength & Conditioning Programs. Trent has been a lead or co-author on 8 different International sport concenses statements, and have been an author or co-author on 150+ peer reviewed scientific publications, totaling more than 12,000+ citations.
