Award is given annually to recognize inspired service in and to sport in BC

VANCOUVER (September 18th, 2020) – Wendy Pattenden, Chief Executive Officer for Canadian Sport Institute Pacific (CSI Pacific), has been named one of this year’s award winners for a prestigious Eric Whitehead Inspired Service Award.
Presented to a select group of winners annually, the award recognizes inspired service in and to sport in BC. The awards were presented this year in partnership with the BC Sports Hall of Fame Foundation at the BC Sports Hall of Fame Annual Summit and AGM on September 18th.
Wendy has been CEO for CSI Pacific and its forerunner, Canadian Sport Centre Pacific, for more than 20 years. She was presented this award for her long and illustrious career in sport, which includes but was not limited to: her career as a top-100 ranked tennis player for Canada; her 13 years as both the Director of Athlete Development and Head National Team and Olympic Coach for Tennis Canada; her role as one of the main architects of the PacificSport regional network in 1999, serving as a guiding force behind the Canadian Sport For Life (CS4L) framework – a Federal-Provincial/Territorial framework promoting competency in fundamental motor skills – and her service as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Sport For Life Society;
