Patti Hunter
Patti Hunter is a seasoned executive and governance leader with more than four decades of experience across Canadian sport, public interest organizations, and cooperative enterprises. She served as Director of Health & Wellness at the YWCA of Vancouver, founded the Benchmark Group, and co-founded KidSport Greater Victoria, where she was Executive Director for 16 years.
She was Director of Physical Activity and Healthy Communities for 2010 Legacies Now and served six years on the Province of BC Minister’s Advisory Council for Sport. Through her consulting work, Patti has led strategic planning and provided governance support to organizations including Canadian Sport Institute Pacific, P.I.S.E., BC Games Society, and PacificSport Centres BC, as well as numerous PSOs and NSOs.
A founding board member of ProMOTION Plus, Patti received the Sport BC President’s Award for leadership in diversity, equity, and inclusion. She also served 24 years on the Peninsula Consumer Services Co-op board and is currently President of the Royal Victoria Marathon.
Patti is a contributing author to Playing It Forward: 50 Years of Women in Sport in Canada and a YMCA-YWCA Woman of Distinction nominee. She holds the ICD.D designation and diplomas from BCIT and has received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Governor General’s Commemorative Medal.
In her spare time, she enjoys golf and teaching group cardio and strength training.
