The Canadian Sport Institute is a world class Olympic and Paralympic training environment. Through the support of our national and provincial partners, our team of sport scientists and medical experts provide programs and services to athletes and coaches to ensure they have every advantage to win medals for Canada.

The Canadian Sport Institute Network has developed a common vision, mission and values for the seven (7) members of the Network. The strong consensus and collaboration from the Network illustrates our commitment to the Network and to a shared vision for the role of the Network in the Canadian high performance sport system.

The strategic priorities of the Coaching discipline area includes formal education, mentorship opportunities, and life services directed at improving athlete performance through well-supported coach development as well as providing a quality employment environment. We are driven to develop competent coaches in the high performance sport pathway who are capable of delivering the highest quality athlete programming.

The International Coaching School brings together some of the brightest coaching minds in Canada to deliver educational opportunities for high performance coaches and share their experiences – from provincial games all the way to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Coaching Operational Objectives

  1. Deliver Advanced Coaching Diploma on annual basis.
  2. Implement Advanced Coaching Excellence / NCCP HP Accreditation program in conjunction with Targeted NSOs.
  3. Implement International Coaching School consisting of High Performance Coach Advance and Sport Performance Coaching Certificate.
  4. Liaise with public post-secondary schools to align coach development.
